Mr. Maqbool Ahmed Gondal , Controller General of Accounts
Mr. Maqbool Ahmed Gondal is a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service and belongs to the 18 Common Training Programme of the Central Superior Services of Pakistan.
He has vast experience of working in public financial management particularly in public sector accounting, auditing, procurement, management and tax administration. Over the last 30 years, he has held various key positions in the Government of Pakistan and made valuable contribution in promoting good governance in the country with focus on improvement in financial management practices in different public sector departments. Some of his recent assignments include Managing Director PPRA, Additional Auditor General (Principal Accounting Officer), Accountant General of Punjab and Sindh Provinces, Deputy Auditor General and Director General Audit (Federal Government) with the Supreme Audit Institution, Pakistan. As a public sector auditor, besides supervision of audit work within Pakistan, he carried out international audit assignments as an external auditor of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and United Nations Industrial Development Program (UNIDO).
Mr. Gondal holds Master of Accounting & Finance from the University of Manchester (UK); MBA Finance from the National University of Modern Language and M.Sc. /M.Phil. Physics from Quaid-e-Azam University with distinction of Chancellor's Gold Medal. He is associated with professional accounting bodies at national & international levels as a fellow member Pakistan Institute of Public Financial Accountant (PIPFA), member Information System Audit and Control Association (ISACA), USA and also a Certified Fraud Examiner from the USA.
Mr. Gondal has special interest in teaching and training. He has been associated with prestigious training institutes of the country for imparting professional trainings top career officers in the fields of management, performance auditing, budget formulation and financial statement analysis. He is part of visiting faculties of many renowned universities in Pakistan.
